Dear Bridgeport Community,

My name is Mark Whelton. I am very honored to be part of the Bridgeport Spaulding Community School District. Being part of the family is very important to me. I am originally from Saginaw and the staff and students here in Bridgeport are the reason I am so excited to lead this dynamic group of educators. I am an avid sports enthusiast and enjoy being outdoors. 

I am coming to Bridgeport Spaulding from the Michigan Department of Education where I was a Financial Independence Consultant. Prior to that, I worked for Creative Synergy Consulting as a Turnaround PLC Coach and was assigned to working with students and staff grades 6-12 here in Bridgeport Spaulding. Throughout my career, I have always maintained a students' first focus.

I hold true to a few mantra's;

• No Barriers, Just Possibilities.

• If we always do what's right, we can never do what's wrong.

• If you lead a horse to water, you can't make it drink. UNLESS, you add salt to its food. What is your salt?

I want everyone to know I am very proud to be a Bearcat and I encourage current and former Bearcats to engage with the schools and district again.
