Coats, Jackets or similar garments (outdoor attire) are not to be worn during the school day in the halls, classrooms or lunch areas. These items are to be kept in a student's assigned locker. Good evening Bearcats! There will be no Bearcat Academy at Bridgeport High School tomorrow, Wednesday 11/15. Bearcat Academy will resume at BHS Thursday 11/16.

Good afternoon Bearcats. A reminder that Bearcat Academy for BHS begins promptly at 3:15pm. Students are encouraged to be here by 3:10pm at the latest. If a student arrives after 3:15pm they will not be allowed in the school. The school also provides food for the students in Bearcat Academy.

Good afternoon Bearcats! This is a reminder that tomorrow students in grades 9-11 will be taking the PSAT test at Bridgeport High School. This is a full day of school for students 9-11. Seniors do not attend. Finally, there is a PTO meeting tomorrow evening at 5:30pm in the High School Media Center.

Good afternoon Bearcats! A reminder that today is our Homecoming Football Game and Parade! The parade begins at 4:30 pm on Williamson and follows State Street until it ends at the High School. The game begins at 7:00pm. Stop by for some food trucks and to support the BHS Football Team!

We are looking forward to seeing you for open house at the High School from 4pm-7pm tonight! Don't forget the Freshman and New Student Orientation is from 5:30pm-6:00pm in the Cafeteria.

Bridgeport Students and Staff, As the summer is coming to a close, so is an incredible amount of work that has been done to our buildings on behalf of our students and staff. While many of you have been enjoying this beautiful Michigan summer, nearly a hundred workers have converged on our buildings to upgrade them to make our students' learning comfortable, fresh, exciting, and enhance our teaching conditions, as well. When staff and students return to school, they will have new lights, new air conditioning, , new heat, new plumbing, new paint, new classroom whiteboards, new playgrounds, new stadium lighting, new security enhancements, a revamped and revved up school menu, and most exciting of all, new STEM Learning Labs for all students in grades K-12. The work being done is currently ongoing. Our goal is to make sure students return to a building that is 100% clean and operational, and buildings that give our students and staff the best environment to learn and work in from the first day of school. Therefore, in order to make sure that all our buildings are ready for students, we have decided to delay the start of school for one week. Students' first day of school will be Tuesday, September 5th. The first day for staff to officially return is Monday, August 28th. Staff may check with building principals regarding earlier access to rooms. A new calendar has been drafted and is available to everyone on our website or at each of our school building offices. We have also changed the date of our Open House event to Wednesday, August 30th from 4pm-7pm. Information about each building's Open House event is also available on the website at www.gobearcats.net and on Facebook pages, as well. Once again, students' first day of school has been moved to Tuesday, September 5th. And the Open House event has been moved to Wednesday, August 30th. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
